IMPORTANT: if you are flying make sure your flight is booked to:
Greenville NORTH CAROLINA (NC) – there is also a Greenville in South Carolina – mistakes have been made before!)

BY AIR:

Route 1: Fly to Charlotte, NC (International Airport) then local flight to Greenville Airport (Pitt-County Airport (PGV).

Charlotte NC, is the hub for USAIR, and there are also international flights into Charlotte from London (Gatwick).

Greenville (PGV) airport is about a ten-minute drive from the main campus of East Carolina University (ECU).

The conference organizers will provide an airport shuttle minivan to meet incoming flights from Charlotte, NC on Monday May 24, 2010. The shuttle will take delegates from the airport to the hall of residence accommodation at East Carolina University,

There is a direct American Airlines flight (one a day) from London, Heathrow, to Raleigh airport.

There is no public transport from Raleigh to Greenville, which is about a one hour and forty minute drive

The conference organizers are investigating arranging a coach to meet incoming London flight on Monday May 24, 2010. The shuttle will take delegates from the airport to the hall of residence accommodation on East Carolina University.

We will also investigate the possibility of a bus to take people back to Raleigh Airport on Sunday May, 30, 2010.

Travel during the conference:

Conference venue is a five-minute walk across Campus from the conference accommodation at College Hill Suites (see Accommodation page of this web site.

If delegates choose to stay elsewhere in Greenville they will have to make own arrangements to get to the conference venue (e.g. car, taxi, bus).

ACCOMMODATION INFORMATION

1. COLLEGE HILL SUITES, East Carolina University (ECU)

Rooms will be available for conference delegates in College Hill Suites, on ECU’s Main Campus, for nights from Monday May 24th to Saturday May 29th, 2010 (inclusive). This accommodation is about a five-minute walk from the conference venue and about a 10-15 minute walk from Downtown. Booking information for this accommodation to follow but here is information for budgeting purposes etc.

College Hill Suites, East Carolina University, Greenville, NC

College Hill Suites have two twin beds in each room and two bedrooms in each suite. Each bedroom in the suite has its own bathroom but share a kitchenette and living room. The kitchenette has a full size refrigerator and a microwave. The building is air conditioned and furnished with beds, desks, dressers and closets. Rooms are not equipped with TV’s or telephones. Local cable service is provided at no extra charge! Some areas in the building have wireless internet access; you can request a password at check-in to access this service. Because our halls are built with a lot of cement and steel, cell phone reception and internet service varies with your calling plan. College Hill Suites includes a comfortable lobby with TV, elevators, vending machines and free use of washers and dryers.

College Hill Suites Prices:

Prices for 2010 have not been set yet but to get an idea add 2% more for rooms and meals:
Rooms: 2009 prices:
$33 per for a private room per night (including bed linen and towels)
$28 for a semi-private room per night

Meals:
Meals are available in the College Hill Suites Dining Hall for
$5.19 breakfast, $7.70 lunch, $8.13 dinner (or $18.73 if all three meals are eaten on campus)

Parking Permits can be available at $10 per vehicle.

2. BED & BREAKFAST:

There is one bed and breakfast, in Greenville’s Historic District, and about five minutes walk from the conference venue and 15 minutes walk from Downtown Greenville.

3. HOTELS in Greenville, NC:

In Greenville there are also several hotels such as Hilton, Marriott, in Greenville, but none are within walking distance of the conference venue or downtown Greenville.
No arrangements for conference delegates have been made with any hotels.

If booking a hotel check its location in relation to ECU main Campus, and to Greenville City bus routes.

Parking permits will be required for parking in Campus car parks.
