WOAM 2010 will be hosted by East Carolina University,
North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources, and the Colonial
Williamsburg Foundation. In addition to paper and poster sessions
there will be lots of opportunity to meet with others and talk conservation
- including at social events and tours. There wil be a pre-conference
field trip to Pettigrew State Park, North Carolina, where dugout
log canoes, ranging in date from 2400 B.C. to 1400 A.D. were discovered
in 1985, in Lake Phelps. Tour options include a day trip to Beaufort,
North Carolina (including visit to NC Maritime Museum, Fort Macon
and the beach, and a longer tour to historic sites at Jamestown
and Colonial Williamsburg and then to the Mariners Museum and the
Monitor Conservation Labs in Newport News, Virginia. Updates:
